Community Service Block Grant (CSBG)

Under this California State program, IHRC is able to provide case-managed emergency assistance to low-income American Indian families who face crisis situations in their day to day lives.  Over a typical calendar year, over 180 families are assisted via this program.  Our goal is to stabilize their emergency situations and create joint plans so they can reach self-sufficiency.  CSBG also permits us to leverage other avenues of client assistance such as FEMA rental/utility program and the County Cold Weather Shelter Program.  CSBG also funds an emergency food program in the Imperial Valley, provides a holiday program to Manzanita, and other community development work as outlined in the next section.

Please complete this form and your TRIBAL VERIFICATION, and bring them into the Indian Human Resource Center if you are interested in services.
